Carnival Cruise Excursions-Magens Bay And Paradise Point

One of the nicer Carnival Cruise Excursions is the Magens bay and Paradise Point tour. This shore excursion can be taken at the Port of St. Thomas. The current Carnival ships that port in St. Thomas are the Carnival Liberty, Carnival Victory, Carnival Dream, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Valor, Carnival Miracle, and the Carnival Glory.

The usual cost for Magens bay is around thirty five dollars per person. The trip from the pier to the beach will take around thirty minutes. The taxis are usually open air and hold around thirty passengers. The trip up and down the mountains was scenic and pretty fun itself.

The bay itself is surrounded by beautiful mountains.Magens bay has been ranked by National Geographic as one of the top ten beaches in the world. After visiting this amazing beach I can see why. The water was an amazing turquoise color and crystal clear. The bay was very calm with very small waves. The water temperature was around 82 degrees in May.  The beach is about a mile and a half from side to side. There are lifeguards on duty, equipment rental, freshwater showers, restaurants and bars available at the beach. Everything was extremely clean and the restaurants were decent also. The snorkeling was simply amazing at Magens Bay.  We saw tons of fish after we bought some dog biscuits from the locals. We saw fish as soon as we were knee deep in the water. They are simply everywhere after using the dog biscuits.

The second part of our Carnival Cruise excursion was Paradise point sky ride. This is a popular sky lift that takes you seven hundred feet above sea level to some of the most spectacular views you can imagine. You can do this tour at you leisure throughout the day. This is a state of the art aerial tramway. It takes around fifteen minutes round trip and costs around twenty dollars for adults and ten dollars for children. Children under five get to ride for free. You will see amazing views of the harbor, cruise ships and downtown St.Thomas. We took some of the best photos of any of the Carnival shore tours  from this view point.  There are a few small shops and a pretty scenic nature trail also. There is also a pretty good parrot show for the children that are shown twice daily.  Overall this is on of the Carnival Shore excursions that we truly enjoyed and would do again.
